It was created by a Japanese software company called Sea’s Garden and is designed with one aim in mind; to keep mosquitos at bay. It is an alternative to products on the market and here’s how it works.
We, as humans, have a gateway mechanism when it comes to our hearing. Only sound that falls into a certain frequency bracket can be picked up by the human ear. Anything above or below will go unnoticed. These brackets, however, are different for various organisms, including mosquitos, and this is where Mosquito Buster truly shines. The app produces a sound that acts as a repellent and keeps mosquitos at bay. Now, a lot of people were sceptical about this app when it was first released, so they tested it with the following results.
A group of people went outdoors to open, empty fields where mosquitos were known to be found in clusters. They spent the entire evening with the smartphone app active in the background and amazingly, no one reported any mosquito bites. Fascinatingly, they did not use any other means of repelling the insects, aside from the app.
The app also offers mice and rodent control measures, in addition to repellant for mosquitos.
